Spring Hockey Information

All current freshmen, sophomores, and juniors attending Minooka Community High School, as well as 8th graders who will be attending Minooka in the 2025-2026 school year, are eligible to participate. Please have your current USA Hockey number ready when registering.

Spring Tryouts

All tryouts will be held at Canlan Sports located at 1581 W. Normantown Rd in Romeoville, IL 60544.

Dates

Monday, March 17th at 9:20 pm - 10:20 pm
Thursday, March 20th at 4:30 pm-5:30 pm
Saturday, March 22nd at 1:40 pm-2:40 pm.

All players trying out for the Spring season are being asked to attend the first 2 tryouts on Monday, March 17th and Thursday March 20th. After these 2 sessions, certain players will be invited to the last tryout date on Saturday March 22nd. UPDATE - ALL PLAYERS are requested to attend Saturday's tryout.

Players will be posted on the website using USA Hockey numbers.

Final rosters for Junior Varsity and Varsity will be announced on Sunday, March 23rd, by 7:00 PM on the club's website.

Spring Information

The Minooka Hockey Club is planning to field up to two teams (one Varsity and one Junior Varsity) this spring consisting of a maximum of 20 players per team (18 skaters and 2 goalies).

Practices will start the week of March 31st. Each team will have one weekly practice at Canlan Sports located at 1581 W. Normantown Rd. in Romeoville. Practices will be 60 minutes long.

Practice Schedule for Spring will be:

JV - Each Tuesday starting 4/1 through 5/20 at Canlan from 3:50pm to 4:50pm.

Varsity - Each Thursday starting 4/3 through 5/22 at Canlan from 4pm to 5pm.

Spring League

Teams will compete in the Spring League hosted by Neuqua Valley, which begin after April 8th and runs through the end of May. The league includes ten regular-season games, with the top four teams advancing to the playoffs.

Additional games may be held at:

All Seasons Ice Rinks – 31W330 N. Aurora Rd, Naperville, IL
Rocket Ice Skating Rink – 180 Canterbury Lane, Bolingbrook, IL
Willowbrook Ice Arena – 201 63rd St, Willowbrook, IL

Games will be primarily played on Saturdays and Sundays, with some weekday games possible.

Fees

The tryout fee for all players is $125. Once teams are selected, the Skater fee of $650 and Goalie fee of $325 will be paid via the Crossbar website. Additional fees apply for service charge. Player fees can be paid over 2 months, with half due now and the other half due on May 1st, 2025.

The fees include:

Reversible spring jersey and socks
Team practices
10-12 Spring games
Goalie training (4 or 5 training sessions during the spring)
